Seena Taher

Program Director

Seena Almahan is the program specialist at the Yemeni American Resource Center, a high school Arabic teacher at Bay Area Arabic Academy, and a health coach. Seena has over 15 years of experience in teaching the Arabic language across the Bay Area. She served as the Arabic program lead at Averroes high school, and taught at many other islamic schools. She is also a certified health coach who is dedicated to helping her community achieve their personal health goals. Recently, she joined the Yemeni American Resource Center as a program specialist that is responsible for designing programs, planning events, and community outreach that will expand the center’s services to the Yemeni community and its youth. Her interests include poetry, health, and above all community service.

As Program Director Seena provides guidance for both the academic content and classroom instruction set. Along with that she is instructor for Arabic 3 classroom.


Souad Djilani
Instructor

Souad Djilani has been an Arabic teacher for 10 years. She was born and raised in Algeria where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology. After she moved to the U.S. in 2001, she started teaching Arabic at Fame Public Charter School. She also has taught Arabic and Islamic Studies at the Islamic Society of East Bay (ISEB), Tenacious pre-school, and Hikmah School. Currently, she provides private Arabic classes to youth. Djilani loves working with kids and joined Ilm Academy in September as an Arabic teacher. In her free time, Djilani learns how to recite and memorize the Qur’an and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Mutaz Khalf
Instructor

Embarking on a journey spanning a decade, Mutaz Hamid Khalf’s role as an Arabic educator commenced in Sudan, where he achieved his master’s degree in engineering. His instructional prowess flourished further as he extended his reach to encompass Arabic at the Sudanese Community School. Presently, his unwavering commitment remains resolute as he tailors private Arabic sessions for youth. A notable chapter in his journey is his passion for nurturing young minds, finding its truest expression at Bay Area Arabic Academy in August 2023, where he embraced the role of an Arabic instructor. Amidst these pursuits, he cherishes precious moments with his cherished ones.
